The 4th annual Farrell’s Splendiferously Superific Summer Spectacular Ice Cream Eating Challenge, benefitting CHOC Children’s® and Make-A-Wish®, is here AND it’s as great of an event as it is a mouthful to say!! Now is your chance to shine like the ooey gooey whipped cream and sprinkle covered star you are. Pit your wits and ice cream eating talents against your fellow man (and ice cream) in a heart pounding culinary contest to see who will become Farrell’s 2013 World's Fastest and Best Ice Cream Eaters!

Trying to qualify is fun and delicious. Come into a participating Farrell’s location anytime between June 21 (the first day of summer) and July 14 and tell ‘em you’d like to try to qualify. You’ll then receive your qualifying sundae that you'll eat as fast as you can while being timed. The 8 fastest in each category will be invited back to compete in the July 21st Championship Main Event at Farrell’s in Brea, CA.

Everyone that tries to qualify gets a scooper-cool, limited edition Ice Cream Challenge shirt and a coupon good for $5 off your next visit to Farrell's*.

We’ve got categories for Light Weights (amateurs) or Heavy Weights (pros and big eaters), individuals or teams for ages 1 to 111. If you're 112 or over, we don't really have a category for that so we'll just give you a seat at the Championship Main Event for the sheer fact that you are such a pro at living. But we digress... join in on the fun! Winners in each category will walk away with a trophy as big as their head, a whole year of free Farrell’s ice cream, bragging rights and possibly part of $600 in prize money!

Light Weight Qualifying Categories:

• -Individual Men’s Pig’s Trough Challenge (ages 16 & up)
• -Individual Women’s Pig’s Trough Challenge (ages 16 & up)
• -Kid’s One Person Jr. Pig’s Trough Challenge (ages 9 – 15)
• -The Big and Small Pig’s Trough Challenge (2-persons, ages 16+ and 9 and under, no charge for the little one)
• -The 4-person Zoo Challenge (all 4 people must be present to qualify)

Qualifying Cost:
$20 per person gets you a 3-scoop qualifying sundae, a limited edition super special Farrell’s Ice Cream Challenge shirt and a $5 coupon*. Proceeds benefit CHOC Children's® and Make-A-Wish®.

Championship Main Event
The 8 fastest qualifying in each category will move on to the July 21 Championship Main Event. There, the Men's, Women's and Big and Small categories will see who can down a 6-scoop Pig's Trough the fastest and emerge victorious. The Kid's category will eat a 6-scoop Jr. Pig's Trough and the Teams of 4 will eat a Zoo. There will be tears of joy and tears defeat that day... along with tears of "what am I doing?" and tears of "I'm so glad I wore stretchy waistband pants/pajama jeans.".

Grand Prize For Each Category:
One year of amazaliciously FREE Farrell's ice cream and a trophy bigger than your head!

Championship Main Event
The 8 fastest qualifying Professionals will move on to the July 21 Championship Main Event to eat an entire Farrell's Famous Zoo the fastest! Trust us, this is gonna hurt you waaaay more than it hurts us.

Grand Prize:
$300 in cold hard cash (or a check), one year of amazaliciously FREE Farrell's ice cream, and a trophy bigger than your head!

Second Place:
$200 cold hard cash (again... maybe a check)

Third Place:
A sack of nickels worth $100. Warning: there may be a few game tokens, buttons and lint mixed in there.

This year’s Ice Cream Championship Main Event is going to be the biggest yet! Grab the family and come on out to Farrell’s in Downtown Brea on July 21 starting at 11am. Cheer on our fastest ice cream eaters in each category as they battle head-to-head to see who will prevail as Farrell’s World's Fastest and Best Ice Cream Eaters!

We’re closing down the street in front of Farrell’s and throwing an old-fashioned fun family festival with rides, games, prizes, entertainment and some super special surprises.
